Many have been eagerly anticipating Sarah Burton’s debut. After the tragic death of Lee McQueen she would naturally be the one to succeed the house. She manages to preserve McQueen’s regal flair for the dramatic and love of the macabre. She retains his darkly romantic edge with beautiful attention to detail and silhouette. And while she favors high waist more, there is plenty of classic McQueen for people to fall in love with once again. While his loss is still much too early, there’s nothing to be afraid of with Sarah Burton taking over. She preserves his artistic vision while ushering in light among the dark. Majestic.

Matteo Martari by Cristina Capucci
He’s rapidly becoming one of my favorite models. This series is very relaxed. Perfectly pastel for spring.

Petey Wright by Eric Ray Davidson for Menswear Fall 2010
Effortlessly chic and put together. This is advertising style rather than fashion; exactly as it should be.

Ginta Lapina by David Sims for Sportmax Fall 2010 Campaign
That platinum blonde hair is awesome. So striking. Everything just comes together in this campaign with the elegant styling, red lip, and wild platinum blonde hair.

Christy Turlington, Natalia Vodianova & Karen Elson by Steven Meisel for Louis Vuitton Fall 2010 Campaign
Gorgeously ladylike. Now this is a trio to watch. Most excellent. Louis Vuitton has really moved in a direction that I like. Marc Jacobs is pushing us away from the waif aesthetic and portraying role models. They have hips and breasts and excellently-coiffed ponytails :P Not to mention I love the 50s shape that Marc just threw out last fashion week.

Gorgeous. Now this is nude photography done right. She has absolutely brilliant lines. Not to mention the photography is excellent. All shadows and light. Love the attention to detail and unusual (but not off-putting) focus points. Although some of the water shots are a little unsettling. Overall, it’s wonderfully languid and at ease with an edge of the erotic.

Thais Rumpel by Alain Richard for Elle Belgium June 2010
Gorgeous. I picked this up more for the photography than anything. I do like how it’s free flowing and a bit wild though. Flowing hair and fluttery clothes are the epitome of summer for me.

Anastasia Bondarenko by Rony Shram for Sokozine Issue #5
Long nights indeed. Long hot and steamy nights as well. I do so love the clandestine feel with the blinds. It reminds me of those old detective movies where a glamorous siren comes to him for help. There’s always this kind of lighting with the excellent play up of shadows. It also makes everything seems just a tad bit more naughty. Reminds me a bit of Frida’s equally steamy shoot earlier this year.
