Frida Gustavsson by Andreas Öhlund for Elle Sweden November 2011

Frida is the picture of charmingly old school glamour in this forties-inspired piece for Elle Sweden. I think that she looks absolutely darling here with her retro curls and glossy red lip.   I love the return to ladylike dressing as there is something very polished about it, showcasing beautifully tailored lines and pretty feminine details.  With these vivid color schemes, every looks creates quite an impact.  And I love that Frida has a chance to smile in this.  I am all for moody avant garde pieces and the coolness associated with fashion print work, but sometime’s a girl just wants to feel pretty and look happy while she’s at it.  Moreover, I love how effortless this entire editorial feels. Frida exudes quirkiness and ease throughout, presenting a beam of sunshine in these cold winter months.

Seeing Stars

Frida Gustavsson by Lachlan Bailey for Vogue UK December 2010

God I love Frida.  She’s terribly adorable.  And I gotta appreciate the face paint.  It reminds me of when I was little :)  This is a bit different from Lachlan Bailey’s normal aesthetic but it’s a cute little piece nonetheless.

Frida is terribly adorable.  I love her so forgive the effusiveness.  I like the contrast of the richness of the clothes to the golden wheat field; it makes for a nice Autumn-like setting.  And Frida positively glows in this.  That light purple eye shadow just highlights how pretty she is.  In particular, the braided headband is a really nice styling touch.  It makes Frida seem like a Bohemian gypsy more than a milkmaid amidst the wheat.  In general, the style of the outfits feel haute couture bohemian.  Her casual waves really suit this editorial as well (particularly cuz her hair kinda matches the color of the field).  Overall, this is a pretty Autumn editorial that highlights Frida’s playfulness.

Frida Frida Frida.  You can do no wrong in my eyes.  This girl is absolutely adorable.  I like the two tones that this shoot emits.  One’s a vampier black and white wackiness (in the best possible way) and the other, lady-like casual color.  I normally hate two-tone editorials; the switch over is too abrupt for me.  But I really love both concepts in this.

Bloody epic.  As if I couldn’t love Carine and Emmanuelle enough.  I’ll just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Une Journée Particulière

Loving the sultry editorials.  Makes me long for summer (although this is postively springlike weather, that’s really not surprising).  Looks like big loose hair and messy eye make up is in for the upcoming year.  Oh it is so on.
