Dree Hemingway by Joachim Mueller-Ruchholtz for Dansk A/W 2011

I am not normally a fan of this type of editorial–I find the styling too eclectic–but there is a certainly vibrancy about this one that I was drawn too.  It could be the clean centered shots, but Dree is strikingly in focus in this.  I love that she doing all sorts of kooky movements and that her personality really shines through.  And yet, there is a certain dignity about her; she retains this poise amid the posturing.  I like the contradiction of her connection to the viewer and her edgy aloofness.  It’s not so much about the concept but rather the setting, mood, and photography all coming together to create a striking piece of work.
