Marni Fall 2011

This is my favorite Marni collection far.  Normally Marni’s aesthetic doesn’t really suit mine, but in this case, I was very impressed by the level of sophistication and high quality of craftsmanship.  I found the patterns very tastefully done and enjoyed the easiness of the draping.  The ladylike silhouettes feel very natural, and the rounded platform wedges are a delightful touch.  I like how the construction appeared effortless, but there is still a structure to the look.  Moreover, this collection just had a very nice vibe.  The flow was the fabric was rather mesmerizing.

Beauty-wise, the undone semi-side part and soft lilac lid provided a lovely counterpoint to the elegant structure.  It is unfussy, just a tad messy, and a bit devil-may-care.  I like the softened rockstar element to it.
