Oscar de la Renta Fall 2011

I liked Oscar de la Renta whole lot more than I expected to, despite his recent comments on the state of American fashion. [Honestly he should give it a rest about Michelle Obama.  She already has a wonderful developed sense of style.  She’s never worn and probably won’t wear your designs.  Get over it already.]  Usually he’s a little too conservative for me.  For this collection he has pops of color and quirky ruffle rusching along with some fairytale voluminous skirted gowns thrown in.  I appreciate the infusion of youthful patterns and the dramatic flair of the gowns.  His clothes are elaborate, highly embellished and just a tad playful, something I didn’t anticipate coming from de la Renta.  Not to mention those rocks are no joke; those earrings must weigh a ton (even if they can’t possibly be real).
