Tulin Sahin by Tamer Yilmaz for Elle Japan December 2010
Very fall-like styling, but considering that this is essentially a showcase of Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2010 I’m not surprised. I love seeing the clothes in practice as much as I loved watching the looks come down the runway. Well-structured and composed of the winter heavy fabrics (suede, wool, cashmere, leather), it’s a very well developed collection by Massimiliano Giornetti. It’s a lovely return to Ferragamo beginnings and tribute to its history. For me, this is more about the essence and feel of looks than the editorial itself. I feel like this is a lovely retelling of history for the House. Massimiliano Giornetti has designed some absolutely gorgeous clothes. Perfect for the classic put together feel that women strive for. [On a side not, at times, Tulin has a very Cindy Crawford-esque vibe, playing it up with her voluminous curls and that flirty little mole near her mouth.] This is a lovely simple, classic presentation for House by returning to Ferragamo that style icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, and Greta Garbo adored.
