Anna, Viola & Özlem by Ayten Alpun for Marie Claire Turkey November 2010

The concept may be pretentious and politically incorrect (hello white people leading the “heathens”), but one cannot fault the fashion in this editorial.  From a fashion and styling standpoint, this editorial is gorgeous.  The color scheme may be just black and white, but Anna, Viola, and Özlem hardly fade into the background.  I’ve actually never seen Marie Claire Turkey before (I never even heard of it before this week), but if this is any indication, the creative director certainly knows what he/she is doing.  The location and the clothes complement each other so well.  I also like how the stylist varied between dramatic minimalist with sweeping lines (Jil Saunder Spring 2011 much?) and the more sensual silk and lace.  This is a well-set editorial with gorgeous maxi skirts and some strategic modelling.
