Lily Donaldson, Gemma Ward & Caroline Trentini by Steven Meisel for Vogue US December 2005

It seems that this weekend is just full of fashion nostalgia (when I really should be studying for my Material & Energy Balances exam *looks innocent*).  I really wish that Gemma Ward would return.  She’s awesome and she’s been an absence in my life for 5 years now.  And while this editorial isn’t amazing, it is still a lot better than what US Vogue has been churning out in the past couple of years.  It has personality and creativity and is a far cry from the formulaic grey background jumping shoots Vogue has been doing lately.  I like how they contrast the glamorous evening gowns with something as mundane as doing laundry.  The soapy craziness shows that high fashion is not all high brow snobbiness. Haha I wonder how the owners felt about a couple models and Vogue crew taking over their laundromat.  And flooding it with bubbles.
