Kirsi Pyrhonen by Paolo Roversi

Kirsi Pyrhonen by Paolo Roversi for Vogue Italia July 2010

Gorgeous shoot by Paolo.  I really have a thing for romantic photographers (Paolo Roversi, Camilla Akrans, Sølve Sundsbø, etc.).  The grey scale (as opposed to stark black and white) is an excellent touch to already beautiful photography.  Also, I love the classic beauty with the winged cat eye and dark lip.  It just suits the mood of the shoot so well.  Not to mention the paleness of her skin contrasts beautifully with the darkness of her clothes.

  1. That first shot is GORGEOUS. Where do you find all of these? I’m just getting into Fashion Blogging-do you have any suggestions? I really like what you’re doing here-it’s not the same stuff I see everywhere else.

  2. Aww thanks! It took me a little bit to get into a groove. Originally I was on blogspot, but I like wordpress much better. I’m not exactly an expert, but I can give you some suggestions. I’m glad you’re getting into it. :)

It depends on what direction you want to go in (street style, editorials, or your own style), but I would recommend sites:
For editorials: Fashion Gone Rogue (http://fashiongonerogue.com/) or Design Scene (http://www.designscene.net/)

For Street Style: Hanneli (http://www.hanneli.com/), Mr. Newton (http://mrnewton.net/), Garance Dore (http://www.garancedore.fr/en/), The Sartorialist of course (http://thesartorialist.blogspot.com/), and Jak & Jil (http://jakandjil.com/blog/)

For personal style: Le blog de Betty (http://www.leblogdebetty.com/) and Fashion Bits and Bobs (http://www.fashionbitsandbobs.com/)

As you can see, I’ve done kind of an amalgamation of all it with editorials and inspiration while my personal style mainly contains my nails or beauty recs. I also occasionally lapse into philosophical/life musings as I like to write. But do whatever feels right to you.
