Bette Frank by Nathaniel Goldberg for Vogue Italia October 2007

Gorgeous in all its sequin glory.  The sequins just add an extra oomph to this editorial.  Normally I find sequins tacky but they really work in this instance and don’t detract from the ladylike presentation.  The editorial brings me back to a different era.  Not only that, but an entirely different culture: one where one dresses up for dinner and never did anything without full makeup.  Not to mention one where a woman lounging around in an evening gown is hardly amiss.  I do so love a good period piece.  While this isn’t exactly a period piece, I do like the glamour displayed.   It’s rare in this current fascination with minimalist.
