T by Alexander Wang Spring 2010

His first ever ad campaign and it’s hot. I love the minimalist take on it; it really suits his line.  While hardly simplistic, the clothes really take on the meaning of “classic with a twist.”  And in this case, that twist is Alexander Wang’s signature all over the clothes.  Easily recognizable, it evolves as he continues to evolve.  And instead of delivering it to various publications and editors, he is going to spread them around NYC and eventually the rest of the US. It’s unexpected, guerilla campaigning, and totally awesome. While I’m always happy to come across pretty ad campaigns in the glossies, spreading it around the city ensures a wider audience that doesn’t necessarily pick up Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, etc. Excellent planning on his part. Of course everything Alexander Wang touches, instantly becomes hot.
