Julia Johanson by Adam Whitehead for Temperley London F/W 2011-2012
I had never truly appreciated the intricacies of Alice Temperley’s work before. But because of the greater media exposure she has been given lately, I have been forced to notice. She has a great flare for drama and apparently a large appreciation for the Roaring Twenties style. I love that she represents both tailored menswear (in glorious detail I might add) and sensual flapper-inspired gowns here. And the designs are further offset by the lovely gardens of Beckley Hall, Oxfordshire. Excellent choice for the majesty and luxury it can provide. I only wish that there was more to show. With a mere three shots, I most certainly want more. The level of detail and ambition displayed here is a great treat to take in. Highly sophisticated and beautifully crafted, Alice Temperley’s designs are most definitely on my list to follow in the upcoming seasons.
