“New Romantic” indeed. This shoot is all about contrast. I love the contrast of her Proenza Schouler-like surfer hair with the romantic pieces she’s wearing. Not to mention the slightly dilapidated setting around her only adds to the whimsical romance of it. It’s almost like Alice in Wonderland with her peering into the distance. I also like the intensity about Marike. The clothing may be girlish but she is certainly no damsel in distress.
